In the Movies

I recently decided to go to the movies. All right, the rooms have upgraded. The 3D is more decent, the seats more comfortable, the sound more sourrounded... But for me still doesn't justify the tickets prices. The explanation, in my opinion, is that they want to take the "loss" of the students half-entries into those who pay a full price ticket, like me and my girl.
Only the theater price was $68. And we didn't have nor popcorn and soda, otherwise the cust would go to almost $100 (or more). But there's still the dinner, the parking and the whole shit. So yes, you don't spend less than $100 to watch a movie into a shopping center theater.

Okay, you can go to a less fancy theater, like that on the Rosa e Silva Avenue, and spend about 40% to 50% less. Or even go on promotion day for $3.00 cheap per ticket, but the prices are still fucking expensive.
I asked someone once what made so many people still go to theaters, despite the prices, once that is so easy in watching from home nowadays. Whether it is for some streaming service like Netflix, Amazon, Play Store, etc. or even download torrents, including in HD. She replied that to these people it is kind of a ritual. It's the fact of leaving home. To be with who you like in that room, in that place. And really... I understood what she meant. And I've been missing it since that day...
