For those who don't know, a "Pug" is a dog pedigree that believes that came from China. They are small dogs, pleasant, fellow, playful and lovelies, with a heart bigger than their small size. They are proper to be created into apartments, once that they don't like to be alone, outside home and they can suffer with the weather changes.
To help on how a Pug looks like, besides the picture above, you just need to remember the movie MIB and the little nonsense dog called Frank. I confess that I just started to know the pedigree after the movie, but this dog appeared around 400 B.C. After some time it became a great fellowship from the Low Royalty.
A history, from 1618 by Sir Roger William, tells about an incident where a Pug saved William, The Silent. Reports indicate that the fact happened between 1571 and 1573, when an Holland camp was surprised by an attack of the Spanish army. The Pug, which the name was supposedly Pompey, woke up his owner before the attack, scratching, crying and licking his face. So, Lord William could anticipate the attack and run away from the camp.
One hundred years later this incident, the pedigree had become very popular. It was portrayed on paints like House of Cards, by William Hogarth and "La Marquesa de Pontejos", by Goya. At France the dog became popular through Josephine Bonaparte, owner of the Pug "Fortune".
Nowadays its price is still appropriated for the Low Royalty. A Pug puppy has a price of $2.000 to $2.500 more or less. The cheaper that I found was $1.500. Besides that, this price is far beyond my actual budget!

  1. They are prone to nasal infections as well. They are expensive, as is any purebred dog that has yet to have more than one owner. Are you thinking of getting a dog?
