Mr Nose

Continuing in the sphere of the world of leadership and leaders, sometimes our paths cross with those people who figth against their own noses. How is that? They are those people who, that so arrogant and accursed, have their noses larger than themselves.

These are creatures that do not listen to opinions. They do not listen to advice, they do not listen to the people on their team and just do things their way. They fight desperately in the hope that one day the goddess of Plastic Surgery ends up redeeming their big nose.

But what good would it do? It would pop a perfect nose and enter a finger. A finger that points to everything and everyone. An authoritarian, absolutist and accusatory finger. Well, so are the noses. They do not take responsibility for their actions, or they do not act, but always look for whoever puts a blame or someone to intimidate. Mr. Nose just has it done. If there is success the merit is his. If it fails, it was your fault. Mr. Nose likes to overwhelm. He complains on you in front of all, to show the power of his nose and his finger.

Last year Mr Nose took over the department in which I work at the company. Already seeing that I would have problems with Mr. Nose, I began to plead my move to another department, another boss. I did without his knowledge, because Mr. Nose would not make things easier for me.

Then Mr. Nose began to fired all those who did not submit to their wills or crazy ideas. Or simply because he felt that certain people were unnecessary, redundant, to the work being done. Mr. Nose took so many people out that he left his team overloaded and some areas with no resources at all. Because his upturned nose kept him from seeing it.

Mr. Nose and his troupe fail to pay suppliers, they stop looking for their resources, their employees. They cut gratification and increase work. They leave their team dissatisfied. One thing I learned in my brief passage down the earth is that what makes a company's spinning wheals are its employees. If they are happy and satisfied with the work they do, the wheals rotates faster and better. Otherwise the wheal simply broke. Which is what I see happening.

And so Mr. Nose is leaving his legacy, his damage in the area until someone notices and breaks his nose. I do not know if this is all part of some bizarre global strategy of the company, and that Mr. Nose acts only as a coadjuvante in all this. I pray for not. I pray that some oracle will see the presepes that Mr. Nose has been making and wake up in time.

Because so is every man's nose. It spoils the lives of others and organizations. He looks only to himself and upwards, treading on those below him. And when they realize it, sometimes it's too late and there is no surgery to fix what was done. Pursued by the nose, I leave my cocoon for another duel, despite the infernal heat that makes in this city.
