Amo meus impostos...

Gasolina (“A”) 800ml (pura, vendida pela Petrobrás) = R$ 0,80
Álcool Anidro 200ml (20% misturado à gasolina) = R$ 0,28
TOTAL = R$ 1,08 / Litro
+
CIDE – PIS/Cofins (Imposto Federal) = R$0,50
ICMS (Imposto Estadual) = R$ 0,64
TOTAL DE IMPOSTOS = R$ 1,14
TOTAL (CUSTOS + IMPOSTOS) = R$ 2,24
+
LUCRO DA DISTRIBUIDORA (Média por Litro) = R$ 0,10
FRETE (Média por Litro) = R$ 0,04
LUCRO DO POSTO (Média por Litro) = R$ 0,30

FINALIZANDO
VALOR NA BOMBA COM IMPOSTOS = R$ 2,66
VALOR NA BOMBA SEM IMPOSTOS = R$ 1,52

Portanto, se você consome 200 Litros de gasolina mês, o bolo fica dividido assim:
DONO DO CARRO (otário 1) GASTA: R$ 542,00
DONO DO POSTO (otário 2) GANHA: R$ 60,00
DONO DO CAMINHÃO (otário 3) GANHA: R$ 8,00
PETROBRÁS (gente que rala) GANHA: R$ 216,00
GOVERNO (Cagando e andando...) GANHA: R$ 228,00

P.S.: No Carrefour ainda dá pra abastecer por R$2,57!

I think that the price of gasoline (and so as alcohol) here in Brazil is so high because of an audacious plan of our government to help the environment and life quality of the citizens. They might do this so that more and more few people can fuel their cars, leaving them at home. Thereby reducing the incidence of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, and reducing cars on the streets thus contributing to the public welfare by encouraging walking and cycling. I love my taxes...

Gasoline ("A") 800ml (pure, sold by Petrobras) = $0,80
Anhydrous 200ml (20% mixed to the gasoline) = $0,28
TOTAL = $1,08 per liter
+
Federal Tax = $0,50
State Tax = $0,64
TAXES TOTAL = $1,14
TOTAL (Cost + Taxes) = $2,24
+
Company profit (Average per liter) = $0,10
Distribution profit (owner of the truck) = $0,04
Gas Station Profit = $0,30

Conclusion
Price of the gasoline at the gas pump without taxes: $1,52
Price of the gasoline at the gas pump with taxes : $2,66

So, if you expend 200 liters of gasoline per month, the division is something like that:
CAR OWNER (Dumb 1): Expend $542,00
GAS STATION OWNER (Dumb 2): Gets $60,00
TRUCK OWNER (Dumb 3): Gets $8,00
PETROBRAS (People that works): Gets $216,00
GOVERNMENT (Giving a shit for you): Gets $228,00

P.S.: At Carrefour you still can fuel by $2,57/Liter!

  1. Maybe if more Americans had to walk we would be less of a disgrace right now. Gas prices are going up for us again, yesterday I paid $3.25 a gallon to fill up my car (I don't know what that is in Brazilian money, I've never needed to know the exchange rate) taxes included. One of my science teachers told me that we had the technology to make cars get 100 miles a gallon years ago (I was told this in middle school), Alas the gas companies and the car companies are in cahoots (that means that they are conspiring with each other) and have made deals with each other- it's a shame really. I can't use my bike right now either to get back at them- there is nowhere to ride it on account of all the frozen snow!
