Estaremos prontos para uma política com sustentabilidade?
Política e sustentabilidade! Confesso que nunca havia escutado falar em Sérgio Xavier. 47 anos, fundador do Partido Verde em Pernambuco, jornalista e engenheiro eletrônico, já ocupou cargos no Ministério do Meio-Ambiente, Ministério da Cultura e no SEBRAE. É especialista em comunicação digital e dono das empresas SX Brasil http://www.sxbrasil.com.br/achix/sistemasx e InterJornal - http://www.interjornal.com.br no Porto Digital.
Apesar de ser praticamente um desconhecido no cenário político atual, possui propostas interessantes. Infelizmente essas propostas não colam. Infelizmente são propostas muito a frente da cultura atual do estado (e até do país). Menos de 5% da população do estado tem uma consciência ecológica sustentável, tipo reciclar e tal. Na verdade 80% devem estar pouco se importando com isso.
É complicado tentar convencer uma pessoa que joga lixo nas ruas, saqueia cargas de veículos acidentados nas estradas, trafega pela direita nos acostamentos num congestionamento, faz "gato" de luz, de água e de tv a cabo e compra produtos pirata com a plena consciência de que são pirata, a acreditarem em propostas sustentáveis.
Infelizmente ainda falta muito para que nossa educação chegue a esse patamar, pois não é culpa da população, e sim de uma falta de educação de base a esse respeito. Fala-se tanto da necessidade deixar um planeta melhor para os nossos filhos e esquece-se da urgência de deixarmos filhos melhores (educados, honestos, dignos, éticos, responsáveis) para o nosso planeta, através dos nossos exemplos... Nossa população não está pronta ainda para os Sérgios Xavier da vida, mas espero que meus filhos possam estar.
Politics and sustainability! I confess that I had never heard about Sérgio Xavier. 47 years old, founder of the Green Party at Pernambuco, journalist and electronic engineer, has held positions in the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Culture and SEBRAE. He's specialist in digital communication and owner of the companies SX Brasil and InterJornal at Porto Digital.
Instead of he's being an almost unknown at the current politic scene, he has interesting proposals. Unfortunately nobody will believe that proposes. Unfortunately those are proposes far forward to our current culture at the state (and even at the country). Less than 5% of the people of the state has an ecological awareness and sustainable, as the needing to recycle, for example. In fact 80% might even care about it.
Its complicate try to convince someone - that throws garbage on the streets, steal charges resulting from accidents on the roads, drives on the shoulder in a traffic jam, to do illegal connections to stole electricity, water or cable tv and buy pirated products knowing that they are pirated - to believe on sustainable proposes.
Unfortunately we must wait too long yet to our education get to this plan, because isn't a fault of the population, but the non-base education for them. We talk so much about the needing to leave a better planet for our children, but we forget the urgency to leave better children to the planet (educated, honest, decent, ethical, and responsible) through our examples... Our population isn’t ready for the Sérgios Xavier yet, but I hope that my sons can be.

I now, its like that here too. We have, however, managed to revive the beavers and deer to the point of their becoming nuisance in some place, so we must be going somewhere. The river near my house used to be full of chromium because a factory kept dumping it in. It killed all the fish and my mother would not let me swim in it until recently. Now the fish are coming back. It's hard though, to convince people that they need to clean the river up when they no longer depend on the trout in it.
