Altar...

Houve um tempo em que tive uma forte inclinação a prática de magia. Talvez tivesse lido muito Paulo Coelho. Cheguei a comprar inclusive alguns livros e utensílios, fazer alguns pequenos e simples feitiços. Claro, não deram resultados, ou se deram, não tomei conhecimento, pois não se faz um feitiço sem uma devida preparação ou simplesmente lendo de um livro ou página da internet.

Desisti de seguir esse caminho por vários motivos, mas mantive algo até hoje: o altar. Os altares eram e são normalmente construídos em pedra, mármore, etc. São grandes, cheios de paranguláias e bem adornados. Antigamente usados para sacrifícios, ainda hoje são usados nas celebrações de missas e cultos.

Basicamente um altar não precisa ser uma estrutura de pedra ou mármore. O altar pode ser um criado mudo ou uma pequena mesa, coberto com uma toalha branca ou preta. O altar não deve ser utilizado para nenhum outro fim senão como sua fonte de energia, proteção e oração. O altar deve ser montado para o Norte. Poderá ser usado outro ponto cardeal, desde que tenha um significado especial para você.

No altar podem ser colocados os objetos que são utilizados na prática dos feitiços, porém algumas pessoas deixam apenas uma vela e o castiçal, escondendo o resto do material. Herança da época da Inquisição onde bruxos eram revistados e perseguidos.

No ponto oeste deve-se colocar um pentáculo, simbolizando o elemento terra. Ao norte um incensário com incenso simbolizando o ar. Ao sul um cálice com água simbolizando a água. Um castiçal com vela ao leste, simbolizando o fogo e por fim, no centro, um caldeirão simbolizando o Éter (espírito).

Para fazer a consagração do altar encha o cálice com vinho, acenda a vela e o incenso. O caldeirão deve estar cheio de água salgada. Trace um círculo de proteção e recite:

"Esse é o momento de iniciar a consagração do meu altar,

Porque esta é a hora da magia se manifestar.

Pelos poderes dos quatro elementos,

Com esse feitiço os objetos vão se encantar.

Consagro-te pentáculo mágico,

Com o seu símbolo envolvido pela energia da Terra. (Jogue um pouco de terra sobre o pentagrama)

Consagro-te incensário mágico,

Com o seu incenso consumido pela força do ar.

Consagro-te cálice mágico,

Com o seu líquido embebido pela virtude da água.

Consagro-te castiçal mágico,

Com a sua vela queimada pelo poder do fogo.

Consagro-te caldeirão mágico,

Com seu interior armazenando o vigor do éter.

Consagro-te altar mágico,

Para que emane as energias corretas para o meu caminho.

Que assim seja, que assim se faça!"

Passe a fumaça do incenso e borrife algumas gotas de água salgada do caldeirão por todos os objetos. Beba o conteúdo do cálice e feche o círculo de proteção. Atualmente meu altar possui apenas um castiçal, crucifixo e é o local onde oro.

Sure, there were no results, or if were, I hadn't noticed, because no spell can be done without a properly preparation or knowledge. Can't be done just reading some magic book or in some internet Wicca site.

I gave up following this path for many reasons, but I kept one thing from that time: the altar. They were and are normally built in stone or marble. They're big, full of things and well adorned. On ancient times they were used to sacrifices and are still used in mass and cults celebrations.

Basically an altar doesn't need to be a stone structure. The altar can be a little table or a bedside table, covered with a white or black toil. They can't be used to any other mean, but as a source of energy, protection and pray. It must be placed at the North. You can use another coordinate, since it has some special meaning for you.

There you'll place the objects you'll use on the enchantments, but some people just place there a candle and a candleholder, hiding the rest of the material from the curious eyes. A legacy from the Inquisition time, when the witches were persecuted and investigated.

At the west side you place a pentacle, symbolizing the earth. At north a censer with incense symbolizing the air. At south a chalice with water symbolizing the water. A candleholder with a candle to the east, symbolizing the fire and at least a caldron at the center symbolizing the Ether (spirit).

To the altar consecration fill the chalice with wine, light the candle and the incense. The caldron must be filled with water and salt. Do a protection circle and pray:

"That's the moment to begin the consecration of my altar,

Because that's the time to the magic become manifest.

By the power of the four elements,

With this spell the objects will become enchanted.

I consecrate you, magic pentacle,

With your symbol involved by the energy of the earth. (Throw a little of dust above the pentagram)

I consecrate you magic censer,

With you incense consumed by the force of the air.

I consecrate you magic chalice,

With your liquid drenched by the virtuous of the water.

I consecrate you magic candleholder,

With your candle burned by the power of the fire.

I consecrate you magic caldron,

With your inward holding the ether force.

I consecrate you magic altar,

To you emanate the right energies to my path.

That it be, that it done!"

Pass the incense smoke and throw some salt water drops from the caldron above all the objects. Drink the chalice content and close the protection circle. Nowadays my altar just have a candleholder, a crucifix and it’s the local where I do my prays.
