A - Principais times da liga nacional. São os times mais famosos, que reunem os melhores jogadores e que geram as maiores rendas;
B - Tornou-se uma divisão tão famosa quanto a A, e muitas vezes até mais disputada. É uma mistura de grandes clubes com médios clubes;
Ai você me pergunta qual a graça desse jogo.
By the way... Meu time perdeu novamente :P

Ouvindo Pink Floyd (Young Lust)

Well, my today Ask Joe will be about those whose hate soccer. I don't want to turn they into Soccer Lovers, neither make they stop to hate it. Just give a little more sense on this strange game, with 22 men running for a ball, yelling bad words and sweating testosterone.
This intrigued game came to Brazil at 1894, brought by the English Charles Müller. The game resumes into put the ball, using only the feet, at the adversary goal, thus making 1 (one) point.
Different from the other countries, each big city here has more than one big soccer club, it means that you can find at least 3 big clubs, rival, of course. Normally one club is hated by all, one is in the middle term and other hates every one. I'm part of those whose hate every one and is hated by all.
One of our main championship is the Brazilian Championship (of course :P). It is made by four main divisions / series:
A - The main league teams. The most famous teams and players which circulates more money;
B - Became a division as famous as the A, and most of the times even more challenging. It's a mix of big teams and middle teams;
C - Few knew teams, but that still have their space at the media;
D - As knew as the Sunday Soccer Game (you know, those unofficial games played by kids, on a sand field, with shoes delimiting the goal). See the post Series D Rules . Nowadays it’s just known because of the Santa Cruz and its dreamer fans;
The best placed four teams from the A division will dispute the South American Championship. The four worst placed will fall to the B division. The four best placed from the B division will go up to the A division and the four worst will fall to the C, and so on, until the D division which will fall down to the limbos and forgotten world.
So you ask me. What is so fun on this? Well, it would be like to explain why a physician likes physics, or why an american loves baseball or american football (not soccer). You just grow up playing soccer on your neighborhood, grow up as a fan of some team (normally your dad's team) and watch games with your friends and work partners at pubs or even at home, with a lot of beer and testosterone.
By the way... My team had lost again yesterday :P

  1. Allan was married to Milly, and Rupert was his lover... or the other way around. Sorry. Eventually it comes out that the one who was married to Milly has died of AIDS, so she could have gone ahead with her original plans anyway.

    I don't hate soccer, it just isn't as readily available here. Ex. if you live in the mountains, does that mean you hate seafood? Not necessarily, it's just that you do not get as much of it and maybe those around you are not very passionate about it due to lack of exposure. I actually did not become a rabid baseball fan until age 14 or so, before I had yet to developed the patience to pay attention for more than two pitches. Before then it was hockey.
