Meeting for the status update on the ServiceNav migration project in France. Pascal was not present, but Jean-Bernard managed to lead the meeting. Stefan is preparing a presentation to for the sales department in France to help them to convince customers of replacing and using Check_MK instead of ServiceNav.


I started implementing monitoring for MongoDB and PostgreSQL databases on the ASL2-SAVONESE site, but I couldn't go further because Python was not installed on the specific hosts.


One browser plugin from Opera that I'm really enjoying is the Bitwarden Plugin! It makes password filling much easier...


I also participated in a knowledge transfer session with Pieter, concluding the teachings of the initial implementation of Check_MK on clients. I can now configure the satellite and add the hosts. I'll try this with Pedemontana.

One thing that really irritated me during the day was constantly losing connection to the network, which significantly slowed things down...



In the evening I watched Ambulance, on PrimeVideo. One thing is for sure: Americans know how to make a blockbuster!

Antigamente meus backups de BD (Banco de Dados) se resumiam a cópias em disco que iam para HDs externos e tal. Há quase 6 meses eu venho trabalhando com uma ferramenta de backup de verdade, com biblioteca de fitas LTO, robô de mudança de fitas e toda aquela parafernália que faz com que o tempo de recuperação de um backup caia de 7 horas para 3 (ou até menos). Afinal, quando o BD para ninguém quer saber como você vai fazer para recuperá-lo, apenas querem que o faça o mais rápido possível. Bastante razoável. Essa ferramenta (HP Data Protector 6.20) consiste basicamente em um Servidor (Cell Manager) que conversa com o Cliente (local onde estão os dados que será feito backup ou onde você deseja restaurar o backup). Cada Servidor pode também ser um "Installation Server", ou seja, conter os aplicativos de instalação, evitando que toda vez que você precisar adicionar um novo cliente, ter que ir lá ao mesmo, fisicamente, com um DVD na mão e um manual embaixo do braço para fazer a di...

I worked on configuring the mk_oracle plugin to update the mk_oracle.cfg file to ensure that an update to the plugin wouldn't overwrite (remove) the changes for using Custom SQL, since these configurations are done manually on the host.
