I worked on configuring the mk_oracle plugin to update the mk_oracle.cfg file to ensure that an update to the plugin wouldn't overwrite (remove) the changes for using Custom SQL, since these configurations are done manually on the host.   I spent the day preparing a training/presentation on Dashboards for France at the request of Stefan... Which ended up being pointless in the end, because what the customer wanted to see wasn't that, but rather how they could configure access to the dashboards and how to add a BI Aggregation view to it. At least I learned how to use the new functionality to export Dashboards. J ust pay attention to the format of the exported dashboard "version": X.X.X I  started looking for a new Soundbar to replace my Blue-Ray Home Theater. The reasonable ones are in the range of R$1,200.00. The issue is that I needed a device with an HDMI ARC input/output, to facilitate installation, since I wouldn't know if the Bluetooth on my TV would be compatible with newer devices . Que não deu em nada no final, pois o que o cliente queria ver não era isso, mas com ele configuraria os acessos aos dashboards e como adicionar uma visão do BI Aggregation nele. Pelo menos aprendi a usar a nova funcionalidade de exportar Dashboards. Só se atentar ao formato da "versão" do dashboard exportado: X.X.X Comecei a procurar um Soundbar novo para substituir meu Blue-Ray Home Theater. Os razoáveis ficam na faixa de R$1.200,00. A questão é que eu precisava de um aparelho com entrada/saída HDMI ARC, para facilitar a instalação, já que não saberia se o bluetooth da minha TV seria compatível com aparelhos mais novos.   Tim started working on integrating Sysaid with Italy. I created a video with instructions on how to configure the Oracle plugin on a remote host instead of the host where Oracle is installed. This is useful for monitoring RAC environments. I turned on my Blue-Ray Home Theater and Poffff! It went kaput! I opened it up and identified that a component on the board had burnt out. I also had an issue with WireGuard, which kept trying endlessly to establish a connection with the I4U environment.. . But w hat upset me the most was the Blue-Ray mishap... 😔

Liguei meu Blue-Ray Home Theater e Poffff! Foi pro saco! Abri e identifiquei que um componente da placa havia queimado. Também tive um problema com o WireGuard, que ficou ad eternum tentando criar a conexão com ambiente I4U... E foi só. O que mais me deixou chateado foi o pipoco do blue-ray... 😔

Interview day at the US consulate to get the visa for our trip in May. We arrived just in time because of the wonderful morning traffic in Recife. It took us almost an hour and a half to get there. Luckily, there's a parking lot in front of the consulate where you pay the whopping amount of R$50.00 to park  👀 But everything went well, and we managed to get the interview ticket. After going through several lines and waiting for about another hour, it was finally our turn. We bypassed the "old man" who usually denies visas and got a separate booth, where an American gentleman, probably around 50 years old, interviewed us. The interview was smooth. He asked me about my job. I graciously replied that I am a DBA and Performance Analyst, and that when his system went slow, I identify and fix the problem.  Dia da entrevista no consilado dos EUA para conseguir o visto para viagem em Maio. Chegamos em cima da hora por conta do maravilhoso trânsito de Recife pela manhã. Levamos quase uma hora e meia para chegar lá. A sorte é que na frente do consulado tem um estacionamento que você paga a bagatela de R$50,00 para estacionar 👀 Mas deu tudo certo e conseguimos pegar a senha para entrevista. Após passar por várias filas e esperar aproximadamente mais uma hora, finalmente chegou nossa vez. Escapamos do "senhorzinho" que costuma negar os vistos e pegamos um guichê separado, onde um senhor americano, devendo ter por volta dos 50 anos, nos entrevistou. A entrevista foi tranquila. Ele me perguntou o que eu fazia. Respondi graciosamente que era DBA e Analista de Performance, que quando o sistema dele ficava lento eu que identificava e corrigia o problema. We traveled to Recife, and I spent time trying to recover my dad's GOV.BR password. The problem is that the app is terrible for facial recognition. After several attempts, I kept receiving the message below: I noticed that it's a recurring issue with the gov.br app. I saw several comments about the same problem. Is it only possible to recover the password/access for those who have an iPhone 15? On Sunday, we stayed at Reserva and had lunch at Terraço, where we were attended to by the always friendly and attentive staff there.

Viajamos para Recife e fiquei tentando recuperar a senha do GOV.BR de papai. O problema é que o aplicativo é horrível para o reconhecimento facial. Após diversas tentativas só recebia a mensagem abaixo: Verifiquei que é um problema recorrente do aplicativo gov.br. Vi vários comentários acerca do mesmo problema. Só pode recuperar a senha/acesso quem tem um iPhone 15? No Domingo ficamos pelo Reserva mesmo e almoçamos no Terraço, onde fomos atendidos pela equipe sempre muito simpática e atenciosa de lá.

I spent the entire week adjusting and configuring the monitoring of Oracle instances for the Liguria site in Italy. After some setbacks, I managed to finalize the monitoring configuration on 8 hosts, two of which did not have active instances. I created a guide for my colleagues for future deployments. I also had a meeting with R&D Brazil regarding the monitoring of their instances and servers, as well as the amount paid to the third-party for performing this activity. I believe that more than 90% of the amount paid is related to monitoring, which can be done by our team.  I asked Angelica how much she believes we can actually reduce costs with the third-party, and in parallel, I will talk to Stefan to conduct a PoC on one of the R&D servers.

Passei a semana inteira ajustando e configurando o monitoramento das instâncias Oracle para o site Ligúria, na Itália. Após alguns percalços consegui finalizar a configuração do monitoramento em 8 hosts, cujo dois deles não havia instância ativa. Fiz um guia para meus colegas para as próximas implantações. Também tive uma reunião com R&D Brazil sobre o monitoramento das suas instâncias e servidores, assim como o quanto é pago para o terceirizado realizar essa atividade. Acredito que mais de 90% do valor pago é referente ao monitoramento, que pode ser feito pelo nosso time.  Perguntei a Angelica quanto ela acredita que pode de fato diminuir os custos com o terceirizado e em paralelo vou conversar com Stefan para fazermos uma PoC em um dos servidores de R&D.

Not much to add... I played X-COM2 and watched movies and series. Besides that, I watched Sport Recife 1 x 1 Santa Cruz... I hope Sport plays better next Saturday because despite having a good team, it is sluggish. And it seems that when it's close to the end of the game or one of the halves, it simply "gives up" playing and settles. That's what happened at the end of the first half when Santa Cruz scored a goal. It seemed like the game was already over, and Sport was just passing the ball waiting for the referee's whistle. Santa Cruz took advantage of this lapse and scored against the red-black team. Fortunately, Sport managed to score in the second half with a beautiful free-kick goal by Felipinho .  

Sem muito a acrescentar... Joguei X-COM2 e assisti filmes e séries.  No mais assisti a Sport Recife 1 x 1 Santa Cruz... Espero que o Sport jogue melhor no próximo Sábado, porque apesar de ter um bom elenco, o time está lento. E parece que quando está próximo do término do jogo ou de um dos tempos, ele simplesmente "desiste" de jogar e se acomoda. Foi o que aconteceu no final do primeiro tempo quando o Santa Cruz furou um gol. Parecia que o jogo já havia terminado e o Sport só tocava bola esperando o apito do árbitro. Santa Cruz se aproveitou desse cochilo e estufou a rede do rubro-negro. Felizmente o Sport conseguiu empatar no segundo tempo com um belíssimo gol de falta de Felipinho

Angel asked me to analyze the proposal for Database Services from an outsourced company. The service scope seems to be within what is necessary. The price is a bit high, but 90% of the cost is related to monitoring instances and servers. I raised the issue in the weekly follow-up meeting, and Stefan added the item to discuss with Greg. I explained that we could potentially reduce costs by approximately 80% by removing the monitoring and assigning that task to our team. The purchase from Ultrafarma is finally in transit, and it led me to register for a promotion from Record TV: Festival of Prizes. I registered, but I have no idea what I did to be eligible for the prizes ... I installed the new MKP sent by Check_MK to fix the MongoDB Replication Lag monitoring.
